Detroit Airport Security Update

Offered by: Detroit Airport Limo of Detroit Metro international Airport

Tuesday another security change became law as President Obama sign into law a bill that will allow all military personnel and family members traveling with them proceed  directly to the front of the line at all airports through-out the country. The new bill named the “Risk-based Security Screening for Members of the Armed Forces Act” which was sponsored by Texas Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison and drew support from both parties with no opposition.

For most travelers the security line is a dreaded process, waiting in a long line is not something anyone looks forward to unless there is an underlying mental condition. With the new rules TSA has constantly been implementing since 911 the lines and waiting to be screened seem to be getting longer. At least now our brave men and women serving in our military branches shouldn’t have to wait in those lines any longer.

Senator Hutchison said “I think we can all agree that our military men and women make sacrifices for our nation every day. The least we can do is try to make their lives a little easier when they travel across the country they defend.”

Until now TSA has had the same rules for all passengers but many airports have used their own protocol pertaining to the security process when it comes to military personnel. We now should see a more uniform process evolving between different airports than in the past few years.

As a recent survey shows the majority of airport passengers say that they’re not concerned with the new “Risk-based Security Screening for Members of the Armed Forces Act” law passed Tuesday relating to the armed forces being an added security risk and that they don’t believe the law is going to have any effect on the traveling public what-so-ever. Most people asked were glad to hear the new act was passed into law.

A spokesman for American Airport Car Service operating out of Detroit Metro Airport and caters services to military personnel said the new rule change is a long awaited and overdue update to the security process as our soldiers are the least of our worries when it comes the screening process.
